Nicki Squittieri is the newest member of the Legacy Travel team and we are excited and proud to have her on the bus.  Nicki developed a passion for traveling very early on in life.  Nicki has been all over the map- Both of her parents were in the army and she grew up accustomed to moving around.   She was born in Georgia and has lived in Southern California, New York, and everywhere in between.  She loves discovering hidden treasures both at home and abroad.  She has been to everything from rodeos and pow-wows to the Met in NYC.  She has taken road trips to enjoy places in our own backyard such as Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Winter Park, Colorado, St.Louis, Missouri, and Nashville, Tennessee.
She has been to see Niagra Falls in Canada.  She has gone to hang out with the locals in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.  She has gone on a Black River Safari in Jamaica where she saw wild dolphins in the ocean, then while heading up the Black River she saw crocodiles, birds, and an amazing array of wildlife. She has been to the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy where she had the opportunity to see her favorite artist’s most beautiful work displayed after a much needed restoration.  She has been to the top of the Swiss Alps and has admired their beauty.
Her current wish list of places to travel to include; France, Spain, Brazil, Egypt, India... There may be too many to list. She loves big cities and dreams of the day when she can travel to places such as Dubai to see the world’s tallest building and Tokyo and see the Imperial Palace and experience all of their rich architecture and history.
This summer she landed her dream job of becoming a travel agent. She doesn’t take a moment of work for granted. She is constantly reading articles related to the travel industry and is eager to go journey and investigate new destinations herself.

From a recent newsletter, here is an interview with Nicki:
1) What is the favorite trip you have taken?
The summer that I spent a month in Italy, all the trips to Disney Land and Disney World growing up, and more recently my trip to Mexico. I’m half Italian and I adore my Papa for taking me to Italy to see where my roots lie. I loved all the trips to Disney Land growing up, but I’m definitely a bigger fan of Disney World- I’m just crazy about Epcot.

2) Where do you want to travel that you have never visited?
France. I’m a hopeless romantic and I love places like Venice and Paris. I’ve always wanted to see the Eifel Tower, do a little shopping, and enjoy some French pastries in Paris.

3) What do you wish people knew about travel or working with a travel agent?
Many people have tried the online booking engines of the world and then when something goes wrong and they have no one to call they immediately wish that they would have used a travel agent or agency. Our knowledge and experience can save you time and money, but more importantly if something happens (life happens) then you’ll have someone to call!

4) What are your hobbies?
TRAVELING! Reading, Writing, playing with some code now and then, and whenever I get a chance to saddle up I’m on a horse faster than you can say, “Let’s Go!”

5) When you heard I was going to interview you, what question were you afraid I was going to ask?
I was worried you might me if there was anything that I would want to change about my job because I would say, “Yes!” I would change that the office isn’t open on the weekends. I would love to work more.

6) What areas in travel do you specialize in?
Currently Mexico and the Caribbean, but always working on broadening my areas of expertise!  

7) What famous person do you wish was a co-worker at Legacy Travel?
Barbara Walters. I know I’m a dork, but she has been all over the world as a journalist and I just know that she would have some AMAZING stories!
